Having an athletic guard is always a plus, and Purdue is looking for another one in the 2024 class to compliment Jack Benter and Kanon Catchings. Coach Painter has long had Gicarri Harris, one of the sons of Glenn Robinson, on his radar, and the feeling is mutual after Harris released his top 6 school this weekend.

Harris is a 4-star prospect that is currently ranked 100th in the 2024 class. Harris took a Purdue visit last September and the coaching staff has had a home visit to his home near Atlanta. He recently put on a show with 28 points in the Adidas 3SSBB Rock Hill showcase.

Georgia Tech, LSU, Miami, Stanford, and Virginia Tech are als listed in his top six, so there is some stiff competition for him.

As things currently stand in regards to scholarships it appears that coach Painter is recruiting as if the 2023-24 season will be the final one for Ethan Morton, Mason Gillis, and Zach Edey. Those three would be eligibile to return for a free COVID year, and should that happen Purdue is currently at 14 players for 13 spots. It seems unlikely Edey would stay for a fifth year, but Gillis and Morton would both be eligible.
