Purdue draws Kansas in Sweet 16 matchup in K.C.

Following Kansas' 90-70 win over Michigan State in Tulsa Sunday afternoon, Purdue will draw the top-seeded Jayhawks Thursday in Kansas City at the Midwest Regional.

The game will tip off around 9:40 p.m. Eastern time and be broadcast on CBS.

Big 12 champion KU is 30-4 and coming off a 38-point win over UC-Davis and a 20-point win over the Spartans.

The Big Ten champion Boilermakers beat Vermomt and Iowa State in Milwaukee to advance to the Sweet 16, its first since 2010.

Purdue and Kansas last met in the NCAA Tournament in 2012, a 63-60 Jayhawk win in Omaha.

It will be a matchup, too, between two of the finest players in the country in Kansas' Frank Mason and Purdue's Caleb Swanigan, each of which made Sunday's four-man cut for the Naismith Trophy.
