Rivals.com update: Drew Timme

Everyone's now recruiting Drew Timme, or so it seems after the versatile post player from the Dallas area has enjoyed a breakout spring and welcomed a slew of new offers.

Purdue's been one of those there from virtually the beginning, after assistant coach Steve Lutz began recruiting Timme while at Creighton, then kept him in mind when he moved to Purdue.

It will be a crowded field for Timme when push does come to shove, but the big man has gone out of his way to make an unofficial visit to West Lafayette, and that's no short trip, and did host head coach Matt Painter for an in-home visit this spring, indications Purdue could remain a player 'til the end. Timme's said often that Purdue's history of using big men in different ways has appealed to him.
