Purdue wll be looking for depth at linebacker, both this year and going forward. Today's player may be able to provide that depth.

Pitre comes to Purdue with a strong football family. His cousin Jalen Pitre currently plays in the NFL for the Texans. The younger Pitre was a member of the 2022 recruiting class. He won a pair of state championships in high school at Universiy Lab School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. That made him a 3 star recruit with a handful of Power 5 offers.

This spring he has been mentioned as a potential contributor coming out of his redshirt year. He saw plenty of action in the spring and was cited as a player doing a good job according to Kevin Kane. He is expected to be an outside linebacker in Kane's scheme, one with the athleticism to move around and make plays.

Pitre is a player that could play in the opener in a few weeks.
