More ($): Funny how recruiting works

Purdue hosts one of the top big men in the 2019 class — for now, at least — beginning today for an official visit, as Normal (Ill.) West center Francis Okoro arrives in West Lafayette.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound post player will be visiting Purdue for the third time, after previously attending a fall practice, then the Feb. 18 home game vs. Penn State.

"I already know what they do. I've made my research into so many schools," Okoro said this weekend at the Nike EYBL event in Dallas. "I just want to see how they want to play me. How am I going to fit into the environment? And what are the things that are going to make me feel involved and feel like home at the school."

Okoro has drawn a slew of national offers for the 2019 recruiting cycle, but has been known to be a possibility to reclassify this summer into the 2018 class, making him a possibility to enroll in college this summer.

Should that scenario unfold, Purdue and Oregon will have hosted him for official visits. Illinois has also recruiting him heavily.

Matt Painter conducted an in-home visit with Okoro in March.

Purdue still has two open scholarships to offer for a 2018 class that now includes big men Trevion Williams and Emmanuel Dowuona, guard Eric Hunter and graduate transfer Evan Boudreaux.
