More: Caleb Swanigan on NBA draft
More ($): Breaking down Swanigan as a draft prospect
Tomorrow, Caleb Swanigan must make a decision that seemed for so long like one that would come with very little drama.
For the better part of the past year, it's been generally presumed that Swanigan would depart Purdue for the NBA following his sophomore season, after he nearly left last spring following an uneven, but still extremely productive, freshman season.
The feeling that Swanigan's days were numbered in West Lafayette grew even stronger as he enjoyed a sophomore season during which he realistically couldn't have done much more than he did, as he was a consensus first-team All-American and probably the best big man in college basketball.
But, things have seemingly changed. Swanigan's approach to this NBA decision has appeared very different than a year ago, when he came off as bound and determined to go had it been any sort of favorable situation. But consensus opinion at that time had the former McDonald's All-American as a possibility to go undrafted altogether.
Now, things have changed on that front. It is overwhelmingly likely Swanigan would get drafted should he depart now. Where and when, those are the questions this time around, and it is believed that he and his team are taking a hard look at the pros and cons of spending a third season at Purdue.
It may simply come down to draft stock, to where Swanigan believes he'll be chosen should be forego his final two seasons of college eligibility and make the jump to the professional level.
There is much to consider, more than it ever appeared there'd be during a season that was generally viewed as Swanigan's, well, swan song at Purdue.
Here's a quick look at some of the factors that could weigh into Swanigan's decision.
