Purdue is ready to start a new era.
And it soon will, with training camp starting in early August, the first under the direction of new coach Jeff Brohm. Already, Brohm and Co., have tried to foster a change, attempting to instill a new culture on the Boilermakers.
“When they came in, they set up a plan and told us what they expected of us and what we should expect out of them,” senior cornerback Da'Wan Hunte said. “Everything has been going smoothly. We’re still adjusting to certain things, creating a different culture. We’re definitely trying to create a culture of winning, so the things we’ve been doing and the thing we’ve had to follow, it seems like it’s heading in the right direction. I think we’re going to be fine.”
Junior defensive tackle Eddy Wilson calls it a fresh start.
“You’d think these (newcomers) would have to adapt to the way we’ve been doing things, but it’s a whole idea (for everyone)," Wilson said. "So everybody is kind of new and it’s a new mindset. We’re all buying in to this new mindset of playing hard, finishing hard, working hard. It’s been interesting to see the new guys; like half the locker room is brand new, which is exciting. It gets some different guys in and we’ve got some really good young guys, from what I’ve seen.”
Brohm has tried to reshape the roster as much as possible in one offseason. But where does Purdue stand on the eve of camp? We took a position-by-position look in trying to answer some of the biggest questions looming for 2017.
