Elite Camp important for Purdue recruiting

After a busy week of camps, Purdue conducts maybe its most important of the month tonight, as it hosts its Elite Camp.
Upwards of 200 players are expected in West Lafayette, including a few players holding Boilermaker scholarship offers; a few more who might be on the verge of them; and many, many that the Purdue coaching staff will welcome the chance to evaluate in person.

Some of the expected attendees:
Texas quarterback David Blough comes to campus already holding the offer Purdue extended last month. It's possible, the Elite 11 QB said, that he'll accept.
"If I go up there and absolutely fall in love with it and I can definitely see myself spending the next four or five years there, don't be surprised (by a commitment)," Blough said earlier in the week. "On the other hand, don't be expecting a commitment, because I think I might still want to see some other places, and then with the Elite 11 stuff going on, there are still options open. But I'm really excited about this weekend. I'll leave it at that."
Offensive tackle Denzel Ward is expected to attend, also. The Chicago native, now at IMG Academy in Florida, holds national scholarship offers, but recently tweeted that Purdue joins proclaimed leader Florida, as well as Ohio State and Oklahoma, in his top four. Ward, who was previously committed to Michigan, also visited Purdue in the spring, in part to visit with cousin Robert Gregory, a redshirt freshman running back for the Boilermakers.
Center prospect Kirk Barron returns to Purdue tonight after already starring at the Boilermakers' camp last weekend. The Ohio commitment from Mishawaka now appears to be held in very high regard by the Boilermaker staff and could have an offer very soon.
Wide receiver Malik Turner and running back James Butler are Illinois natives who already hold offers from other schools who'll be looking to add to the list this weekend at Purdue.
Among other in-state prospects also getting a look tonight will be Cathedral tight end Zach Saum and Crown Point linebacker Brendyn McKinnon.
