Freshman Focus: Catlett primed to play as a rookie

This is what KeyRon Catlett wanted.

But now that he’s learned he won’t redshirt in his freshman season for Purdue, Catlett’s not quite sure how he’ll respond when he takes the field at some point Saturday.

He’s never played in front of more than a couple hundred fans. Never played at a venue like Lucas Oil Stadium, where the NFL’s Colts play. Never even played at a college stadium, for that matter.

So Catlett, a slot receiver, suspects there will be nerves.

“A whole lot of nerves,” he said after Tuesday’s practice.
