THOMPSON COMES UP BIG

This was bound to happen, this sort of scare, because Purdue is so young and so new, and it wasn't going to shoot 50 percent from three-point range all season. This sort of showing should have been expected, and that Purdue came out of it unscathed is the key.

A huge part of Purdue finding a way on Friday was the steady guard play it got from Isaiah Thompson, filling in as the Boilermakers' primary ball-handler with Eric Hunter and Jaden Ivey out.

Between two positions, Thompson logged a career-high 36 minutes and despite spending all those minutes facing a relatively pressure-driven defense, he came out of it turnover-free.
