MADISON, Wis. — Whether it was a slow start that did Purdue in or the Boilermakers just not having quite enough in the end can be debated, but regardless, Tuesday night's loss at Wisconsin hurt.

Not that Purdue could be particularly comfortable before, but the 69-65 loss in Madison now puts the Boilermakers In an especially tight spot from an NCAA Tournament perspective.

Our analysis ...

TALK ABOUT THE OFFENSE ALL WANT ...

Yes, the offensive start to both halves was lackluster, and that's putting it kindly. Yes, this was another very flawed offensive showing for a Boilermaker team that probably is what it is at this stage of the season at the offensive end, at least until it can get to face some non-Big Ten opponents again in whatever postseason play lies ahead for it.

But this outcome wasn't guided solely by offensive struggles.
