When we began this little endeavor, there were a handful of names I immediately wrote down as must-haves, big-time value guys I figured I could grab in the middle rounds to sucker-punch my esteemed colleagues.

Dennis Kelly was pretty high on that list. And for good reason.

It's a short list of great offensive tackles Purdue's had in this 20-year time frame. Kelly might not have enjoyed the starpower some of his predecessors did or benefit from the sort of quarterback play that made offensive lines better, but he was really, really good, as his sustained NFL stint has backed up.

I like my tackles tall and long and mobile and Kelly was all of these things, without sacrificing size. Remember, this guy was a 215-pound high school tight end when Purdue first took his commitment as a greyshirt. He was a great story.

And, personally, he's fun, and I like fun. Sit down and talk pro wrestling with Kelly sometime.

Love this pick.
