GoldandBlack.com video series: Lasting Legacy

Dakota Mathias played a key role in Purdue's Big Ten championship run last season, his first as a full-time starter and significant contributor.

In the first 10 games of his final season, he's raised the level of his play another notch, averaging career bests in points per game (15.5), rebounds per game (4.6) and shooting percentage (.559), as well as still locking down opponent's top perimeter threats.

That's all great for Mathias, a captain who cherishes being a Boilermaker. But in our new video series focusing on Purdue's seniors, "Lasting Legacy," we go a bit off-the-cuff to let the players' personalities shine.

In this installment, Mathias talks shiners and scars, annoying hair obsessions and what tricks he uses to stay motivated, plus much more as we offer a FREE first look at the series.

We're doing this series on the seniors, in part, because we initially featured this class when they were freshmen.

So we'll make sure to pair the most-recent installments with "flashbacks" from Year 1.

Here is Mathias' first piece, from December, three years ago:
