Purdue has landed a commitment from another of Its top in-state targets in the 2022 class, adding Fort Wayne Snider linebacker Domanick Moon on Sunday, a day after he visited West Lafayette on his own for the Nebraska game.

"It's Big Ten football," Moon said. "Growing up, as a young kid, I always looked at Purdue as a big-time schooI."

The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder said he was more or less set on Purdue before being on campus this weekend convinced him to commit. The NCAA's recruiting dead period is ongoing, but recruits are free to tour campuses on their own.

"They've really been wanting me to commit all along," Moon said. "Just being there (on campus), I really loved it.

"I was already pretty convinced, because they'd showed me I was a top priority with the way they'd text me and send me stuff almost every day. You can't get anything better than that."

Purdue recruited Moon as an inside linebacker.

"Coach Diaco, with his defensive scheme, I know he likes big linebackers," Moon said. "And he just likes how I play, how aggressive, big and fast I am at my height and size. He's been able to coach Jaylon Smith and a guys like that and I just want to have a coach who I know can develop me into a big-time player."

Moon committed to Purdue over early offers from Cincinnati, Syracuse and others and interest from Indiana and a number of other Big Ten schools.

He joins QB Brady Allen as the Boilermakers' 2022 commitments.
