Coach Darrell Hazell offered the West Lafayette High School offensive lineman a scholarship in a phone conversation Monday afternoon, Truitt said via text message. Truitt and many of his West Side teammates are in Bloomington-Normal at Illinois State's team camp.
The Purdue offer comes a few weeks after the 6-foot-4, 280-plus-pound Truitt - who made an early commitment to Miami (Ohio) - stood out at the Boilermakers' lineman camp earlier this month.
