With only about 75 days left until the new performance complex needs to be turned over to Purdue, the facility is flooded with workers.

There are about 100 current staff on site right now working to get the building finished, university project manager Drew Furry said Tuesday.

“It’s a very important time,” Furry said, “and this is the moment in time where we have almost the maximum number of contractors on site. If you can imagine, a lot of the finish trades, a lot of the interior guys, the painters and tile guys, they’re ramped up and doing a lot of work as you still have a lot of exterior guys still wrapping up their work as well. There’s a heavy overlap and it requires a lot of coordination, both from our construction manager here on site but also with our design teams to make sure they’re available to answer questions and make sure the design intent is being accomplished and being successfully implemented on site.

“So this is a pressure-is-on type moment. It requires heavy coordination on site on a daily, hourly basis to ensure successful completion.”
