Purdue football coaches in history that have left the Boilermaker program for another college football. Only Jimmy Phelan, who led Purdue to its only undisputed Big Ten title in 1929, left for for the University of Washington the year after winning the title. Cecil Isbell, who was head coach from 1944-46, departed for the Baltimore Colts in 1947. Isbell's successor at Purdue, Stu Holcomb, left the Boilermaker program to become AD at Northwestern in 1955 after nine years as Purdue's head coach.

Point spread in coach Jeff Brohm's worst loss as head coach when he was at Western Kentucky suffered in a 59-10 loss to Louisiana Tech on Nov. 1, 2014. The 31-point loss at Minnesota on Nov. 10 was the second biggest defeat in terms of point spread in Brohm's head coaching career.
