LOUISVILLE — Some quick analysis from Purdue's 80-75 overtime loss to Virginia in the Elite Eight.
STUFF OF LEGEND
This game was one for the ages, and one of the nights where it was unfortunate there had to be a loser.
It was an all-time great game, and an all-time great performance from Carsen Edwards, to finish off an all-time great performance in the NCAA Tournament as a whole.
Purdue's All-American averaged just under 35 points per game in four games, but beyond that, his decision-making and efficiency increased considerably over the Big Ten season, during which the Boilermakers won a championship.
Edwards was brilliant in the NCAA Tournament, again, an all-time star turn who broke an NCAA Tournament record with 28 made threes and needed just four games to do it. The previous record-holder, Glen Rice, needed all six.
