George Karlaftis

Jeff Brohm has said it often: He needs a better pass rush from the front four. And, he may get his wish from a unit that flashed promise in the spring.

Purdue wants to be able to generate pressure without having to rely on blitzes too often. The depth and quality of personnel has improved since Brohm arrived for the 2017 season. And he may have a lynchpin off the edge in early enrollee George Karlaftis, who more than held his own this spring. Could he be the next great end for a school that has developed a reputation for producing good ones? Stay tuned, but the early returns are encouraging.

In addition to the veteran personnel, Purdue will welcome some freshmen in June who could impact this fall. A guy to watch is Dontay Hunter.

Here is how GoldandBlack.com would stack the depth chart at defensive end coming out of spring ball.
