Purdue has a nice situation at tight end. In fact, it’s quickly becoming one of the stronger position groups on the team.

Fifth-year senior Brycen Hopkins looks primed to be one of the top tight ends not just in the Big Ten—but perhaps the nation. Now that Cole Herdman is gone, Hopkins is the clear No. 1 option; he has just five career starts. Depth looks good, too, with junior Darius Pittman and redshirt freshman Payne Durham offering glimpses of development this spring.

This unit will be bolstered by the arrival of two promising tight ends in Kyle Bilodeau and Garrett Miller. Jeff Brohm needs to hire a tight ends coach after Mark Tommerdahl left before spring practice to take a job at Texas Tech. Quality control assistant Ryan Wallace coached the tight ends in the spring.

This is how we would stack the tight end depth chart coming out of spring drills.
