MARTINSVILLE — After enjoying a big senior season at Indianapolis' Lawrence Central, then decommitting from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in the wake of its coaching change, Jake LaRavia is emerging as a high-major-level recruit.

And the 6-foot-8, 220-pound wing-type forward looked the part Saturday in Martinsville, scoring 21 points in the North/South All-Star Classic.

A player known for his long-range shooting — he made better than 40 percent of his threes for L.C. this season — did his damage this weekend attacking the basket off the dribble and via the offensive glass, that versatility being part of the reason he's drawn extensive attention since he came back on the recruiting market.

Things have already narrowed.
