D’J Edwards is adjusting to life at Purdue.

It’s a challenging mix, with the freshman both being offered more free time yet also having more requirements, with consequences for missed commitments. And two-and-a-half months into his Purdue tenure, the early enrollee is still trying to find a balance.

The West Palm Beach, Fla., native was late for a workout on his first week on campus, then skipped a treatment on Monday — he has a hamstring injury — that he says he didn’t know about.
