Listen: Audio analysis of Day 1 ($)
Purdue opened its training camp Thursday under mostly sunny skies and 90 degree temperatures. A couple quick impressions:
• The defensive backfield was particularly disruptive on Day 1. There were three interceptions.
• As expected, Matt McCann got the first-team reps at right tackle. Tim Cason was the starting cornerback opposite Da'Wan Hunte in the other key position battle this camp.
• Gregory Phillips probably was the standout on offense with a pair of big-time catches.
