Purdue finished its third two-a-day of camp Monday indoors at Mollenkopf. What stood out:

• Left tackle Martesse Patterson's left knee injury isn't as bad as what was initially feared, Coach Darrell Hazell said after the second practice of the day. Hazell said Patterson had a previous issue with the meniscus in that knee before, so it's possible that was re-aggravated. Hazell said he hopes in a "day or two," Patterson will be healed up and back practicing.

Kamal Hardy was back with the first-team defense at cornerback in the practice-by-practice rotation.

Bilal Marshall ran three snaps as the Wildcat quarterback Monday afternoon, a package Purdue unveiled in the spring and has worked on at points during camp. Marshall offers a unique look because he's a former QB, so there's a legitimate threat to throw out of the package.
