Quick Count: Purdue practice No. 6
Purdue enjoyed its second consecutive day in pads.
It didn't enjoy the heat.
Following are other quick observations:
LISTEN ($): "The Point After"
• Newcomer Malik Kimbrough was in uniform for the first time during training camp, after having passed his physical-related tests.
The 6-foot, 180-ponder from Southwestern Community College will practice with the running backs — he was there Wednesday, looking a bit raw in the individual drills, as one would expect — but his main role will be as a punt returner. And he took several during special teams portions of practice.
• Quarterback David Blough returned as the primarily No. 1 quarterback, a day after Elijah Sindelar took the majority of the first-team repetitions.
• And the offense scored a good performance in the end-of-half scenarios, with the Sindelar-led 1s scoring a field goal just before the break and Blough putting a perfect lob to Bilal Marshall into the endzone for a touchdown.
