Quick Count: Purdue Practice No. 7

GREENCASTLE — Purdue's on the road Thursday for its first two-a-day, visiting DePauw for the day.

The morning practice was held on DePauw's grass practice field, and though it was a bit wet, it was in general good shape and allowed the Boilermakers to get a quick, efficient morning workout in.

• After a slow start to camp, senior receiver Bilal Marshall has emerged with productive, impressive practices the last two days. He had the catch of the morning on a one-handed grab near the sidelines, while he was falling down, and he never needed the second hand to touch the ball.

• The defense stood out in third-down team periods, prompting coordinator Ross Els to celebrate on the sidelines after each stop, which reached consecutive numbers, even in third-and-short situations.

Elijah Sindelar once again got some first-team reps at quarterback; Myles Norwood was back as the first-team corner opposite Da'Wan Hunte; and Matt McCann was with the 1s most at right tackle.

• The afternoon practice at 3:30 p.m. will be held in Blackstock Stadium.
