As has been generally expected around Purdue, Jeff Brohm appears to be set to hire Tony Levine from his Western Kentucky staff to coach the Boilermaker special teams and tight ends, according to Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman.
Feldman also reported Levine would carry a co-offensive coordinator title.
Shortly after his hiring at Purdue, Brohm said on the Dan Dakich Show in Indianapolis that he expected to add, "one of the best special teams coaches in the country" to his staff, seemingly a nod to Levine.
Levine served as the head coach at Houston from 2011-14 after four seasons as an assistant coach there. Prior, he worked with the NFL's Carolina Panthers and for three seasons at Louisville.
Brohm has already formally hired JaMarcus Shephard as wide receivers coach and will hire Brian Brohm, likely as quarterbacks coach, perhaps more.
Interim head coach Gerad Parker remains a possibility to remain should he so choose, GoldandBlack.com has learned. Western Michigan's Brian Callahan is a possibility for offensive line coach, as might be Western Kentucky OL coach Dale Williams.
For running backs coach, WKU's Chris Barclay has been closely considered.
The Hartford Courant has reported that former Connecticut defensive coordinator and long-time Virginia staffer Anthony Poindexter will join Purdue's defensive staff.
Jeff Brohm has said he expected to make hires between Christmas and New Year's.
