Spiece tournament loaded with Boilermaker recruits

This weekend, one of the biggest and best AAU tournaments of the spring period hits Fort Wayne, which again will host the annual Bill Hensley Memorial Spiece Run n' Slam All Star Classic.
The tournament, which originates from Spiece Fieldhouse but will have games played all over the city, will include more than 200 teams covering age groups 17-and-under through rising high school freshmen.

Among those teams included will be many of Purdue interest, including the following:
Spiece Indy Heat's senior-to-be team features Purdue 2013 commitment Bryson ScottClick 17-and-underHere to view this Link., a rising junior who's playing up an age group.
Indy Heat would ordinarily also feature Purdue 2012 recruit Rapheal Davis and target A.J. Hammons. Davis, however, is sidelined until June after undergoing minor knee surgery, sidelining him for this tournament played in his hometown. Hammons, who's going to school at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, won't be making the trip this weekend.
The Illinois Wolves program includes Purdue commitments in both the 2012 and 2013 classes.
Dorian's Pride/D3 Heat is led by Class of 2012 blue-chipper Gary HarrisClick Big man Jay Simpson plays for the Wolves' 17s team.Here to view this Link., who Purdue continues to recruit heavily for its fall signing class.
IU commitments Collin Hartman and Devin Davis Jr. play for that team, also.
Smotherman's and Stephens' teams are slated to play against one another at 2 p.m. Saturday on Court 7 at Spiece Fieldhouse.
Spiece Indy Heat's entry in the 16-and-under division is a sophomore team playing up a year and includes Purdue 2014 prospects P.J. Thompson and Trevon Bluiett, among others.
15-and-under
Meanstreets includes Northwest Indiana big man Tyler Wideman, who Purdue has shown significant early recruiting interest in, as well as Bowman Academy's Justin King and Michigan's Drake Harris, among others.
Eric Gordon All-Stars is led by blue-chip Class of 2014 prospect JaQuan LyleClick Wideman, though, has been plagued by an injury.Here to view this Link., as well as Greensburg win Sean Sellers, who's drawn some attention from Purdue this spring.
Indiana Elite One features Speedway guard Justin Brent, who's drawn early interest from Purdue and others in the Big Ten.
Below is a quick breakdown of the weekend's pool play schedule, with games starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the first round of 17-and-under games. The tournament portion event begins late Saturday afternoon, following the conclusion of pool play, and runs through Sunday.
