TerBush to start vs. ND

On his radio show Monday night, Coach Danny Hope announced that Caleb TerBush as his starter for Saturday's game at Notre Dame, provided he has a good week of practice.
TerBush, a fifth-year senior who was suspended for the opener Saturday against Eastern Kentucky, has not missed a day of practice despite missing the game. He talked to reporters after Monday's session (video below), 90 minutes before he was publicly announced as the starter.

"He gives us the best chance to start off well," Hope said on the show, because he manages the game so well and limits his errors. During his show, the fourth-year coach repeatedly expressed the need for the Boilermakers to get off to a fast, mistake-free, start vs. the Fighting Irish.
Hope, noting that Purdue got off to a bad start vs. ND last season, said the decision doesn't necessarily mean that TerBush will get more snaps than Robert Marve. He said No. 3 Rob Henry will play as well.
TerBush was suspended for Game 1 for breaking an unspecified team rule and watched from an equipment room, per coaches' orders.
"You can't let that happen," TerBush said Monday of his rules violation, which he wouldn't elaborate on. "I know I slipped and made a mistake, but that's part of life. You've got to learn."
TerBush's suspension, which came down a day before the game, allowed Marve to start, with the sixth-year senior throwing for nearly 300 yards with three TDs, a pick and a fumble in Purdue's 48-6 win over EKU.
In last season's 38-10 loss to Notre Dame in Ross-Ade Stadium, the Boilermakers fell behind 21-0 until scoring a late second-quarter field goal. TerBush, the starter, was 10-of-15 for 101 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Marve was 9-of-22 for 91 yards.
