Drue Tranquill, a priority summertime recruit for Purdue, will announce his decision Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at his high school, the safety/linebacker from Fort Wayne Carroll announced on Twitter Sunday night.
Tranquill, who will be visiting Purdue Monday and is expected to visit Indiana Tuesday, has narrowed his choices to Purdue, IU and Cincinnati. Notre Dame and Michigan were also finalists, but neither have offered a scholarship.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Tranquill has called Purdue his leader in recent weeks.
"Obviously I've been wanting that one for a while now, just because it's in-state and the prestige of that degree," Tranquill said in June, after earning a post-camp scholarship offer. "I think it would be cool with the new coaching staff; they're all great guys with a lot of passion. I think big things are coming for Purdue and it would be cool to spark that and start something big. I know there's a couple guys in state, like Gelen Robinson and some others, that we could really make an impact there."
