For the first time, Purdue had defensive end target Willie Ervin on campus Saturday for its junior day. For the second time in as many weekends, Ervin's teammate, Elijah Ball, was in West Lafayette, too.

The Ben Davis teammates each have Purdue offers, Ervin as a pass-rusher and Ball as a defensive back.

For Ervin, it was his first trip to Purdue as one of its clear-cut targets.

"It's a good coaching staff, coaches I can relate to," Ervin said. "They're going to have a good offense, but they need to have a good defense, too, and they need players to do that.
