While it may have been a buzz-kill of sorts for Purdue following a three-week run that threw folks into a tizzy, the loss to Michigan Saturday changes nothing for the Boilermakers moving forward, if you ask me.

As much fun for Purdue fans as Weeks 1 through 3 might have been, you still had to recognize that this wasn't going to happen overnight and there would still be struggles to come.

Those struggles came Saturday, as the Boilermakers couldn't score against a de facto NFL defensive line and all the four- and five-star freakshows out there to complement them.

And the defense fell victim to attrition, both from being on the field too much and from seeing two important guys leave said field.

It was a dose of, well, reality, a reflection of the fact that though September had seemed transformational, it may have been, but only to a point.

Michigan was that point.

That said, there are more Ohios and Missouris left on the schedule than there are Louisvilles and Michigans.
