Weekly Word: Recruiting, Carsen Edwards and more

Today, GoldandBlack.com continues a new weekly feature. We're calling it the Weekly Word.

Why? Because it has words, it's posted weekly and we're just that unimaginative. (Actual feedback from Week 1: Definitely like the content, but a new name would be useful.)

Anyway, here are some random thoughts for the week, most of which will be Purdue-related.

Relax: So, it's May 20, and Purdue lately has seen a series of decisions from A-list recruits go a different way, to the point that onlookers seem to be getting anxious. Here on this day, May 20, the Boilermakers hold three commitments, with some scholarship resources spoken for on carried-over recruits, as well, among the fewest in the Big Ten.

This is the moment where we'd offer up the requisite reminder that recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint, but I'm sure Purdue would have liked to have come out off the blocks a bit faster here as it comes off a 2018 recruiting cycle that brought quite a haul, and now it looks to stack classes.

Here are some things to consider, however.
