The Weekly Word is GoldandBlack.com's weekly, obviously, column covering Purdue football, basketball and recruiting, as well as college sports issues, the true meaning of life, or whatever other topics might come to mind in a given week.

FOOTBALL'S PRIORITY LEVEL

I don't know if there's going to be college football this fall or not.

I hope there is, same as you.

Who wouldn't? Football would represent our return to life as we know it.

And if there is, I don't know what it's going to look like, though I think we can all agree that the concept of 80,000 people sitting hip to hip can seem a little more distant every time you put on a surgical mask to go to Target for milk.

That doesn't altogether rule out football being played. Football as we know it, maybe, but football, period, maybe not. No one knows. This is uncharted territory.
