Edwards averaged a team-best 18-and-a-half points for Purdue, which won a program-record 30 games. He was named first-team All-Big Ten, a redundancy once several All-America honors came his way following the season.
The Atascocita, Texas, native has entered his name into the NBA draft, but has not hired an agent and will have 'til May 30 to decide whether he'll return for his junior season.
Other finalists for the West Award were Duke's Grayson Allen, Oakland's Kendrick Nunn, Creighton's Marcus Foster and Boston College's Jerome Robinson.
