To help commemorate the 20-year anniversary of Purdue's magical turnaround 1997 season, GoldandBlack.com's staff will break up the rosters and select the best players to wear a Boilermaker uniform since Coach Joe Tiller's first season on the sidelines.

GoldandBlack.com's 20-year Purdue player draft will have 100 players chosen — two picks each weekday over 10 weeks. Boilermakers who were on Purdue rosters between 1997-2017 are eligible for selection. The draft order is Alan Karpick, Stacy Clardie, Kyle Charters and Brian Neubert.

Neubert shuffles his offensive line.

Draft ticker: Nos. 1-83

My offensive line is complete with not only the addition of a very solid center in multi-year starter Jim Niedrach, but also a position switch.

With a true center now on board, my offensive line becomes even stronger because Gene Mruczkowski now moves over to guard, his best position. Unlike some of my colleagues, I'm trying to put players in the best position to succeed and I've now done that with Mruczkowski, one of the two best guards Purdue's had in this timeframe.

I don't want to make this just about Mruczkowski, though. Niedrach started about three dozen games for Purdue during one of the most successful three-year runs the program's had in terms of wins: 1997-99. I recall no complaints about his performances whatsoever.
