Boilermaker big man Jacquil Taylor is sidelined "indefinitely," Purdue announced Wednesday, after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his ankle.
Taylor had been sidelined much of the preseason due to what was considered a sprain.
“We feel bad for Jacquil as he has really improved this offseason and was going to provide us depth in the frontcourt,” Coach Matt Painter said in a release. “He will work hard to get back on the court and will do what it takes in his rehab to recover.”
Taylor, who redshirted as a freshman while limited from the major injury he suffered as a high school senior, was due to provide another option for Purdue at center, maybe power forward.
