Purdue and Notre Dame have altered their future schedules, adding two games to their renewed series while taking away one.

The rivals, who had played for 69 consecutive years before the series took a hiatus after the 2014 meeting in Lucas Oil Stadium, will resume action in 2021. Then, they'll play every season from 2024-2028, with games in the even-numbered years being in Ross-Ade Stadium. That includes '26, which had previously been scheduled as a neutral-side game. The 2020 game, anticipated to be the renewal of the rivalry, has been taken off the schedule.

Athletic director Mike Bobinski, a 1979 Notre Dame graduate who played on the Irish baseball team, is looking forward to the expansion.

“Having been on the other side of the series some years ago, I am familiar with the history and tradition of the Purdue-Notre Dame matchup," he said in the release. "Sellout crowds, national television, two outstanding universities in close proximity and intensely competitive games. I am excited that the series will resume and know our fans will be, as well.”

The dates are as follows:

Sept. 18, 2021 at Notre Dame

Sept. 14, 2024 at Purdue

Sept. 20, 2025 at Notre Dame

Sept. 26, 2026 at Purdue

Sept. 4, 2027 at Notre Dame

Sept. 23, 2028 at Purdue

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Fighting Irish football program,” Coach Jeff Brohm said in the release. “We strive to take on the best programs in the country on a regular basis, and when you have a first-class, high-caliber program nearby, it’s a no-brainer to add more games against them. We look forward to the challenge.”

As part of the rescheduling, Purdue's game at Wake Forest will be played on Sept. 9, 2028, a year later than originally planned. Purdue plays Wake at home in 2026.

And Purdue confirmed two previously reported games: Sept. 12, 2020 vs. Memphis and Sept. 10, 2022 vs. Indiana State, both in Ross-Ade Stadium.
