Purdue's emphasis on branding starting to show at athletic facilities

The massive, dated scoreboard at the south end of Purdue’s Ross-Ade Stadium still is standing.
That’s unfortunate for many Boilermaker fans who are eagerly awaiting grand changes. But those likely aren’t coming any time soon — a pavilion, a flashy new scoreboard or whatever else being envisioned for a south end zone project — because such dramatic moves would come at a significant price tag.
Instead, Purdue is making minor tweaks to the exterior of Ross-Ade, on both the south and north ends, in an effort to better brand the athletic facilities. It’s not only the football piece that’ll be getting spruced up: Expect flourishes on Mackey Arena’s exterior along Northwestern Ave., too, said Al Capitos, the school’s assistant athletic director for facilities.
