Purdue snaps losing skid at Hawaii

Shooting nearly 60-percent from the field, the Boilermakers snapped their two-game losing streak late Saturday, beating Hawaii 79-67 at the Rainbow Wahine Challenge.

Purdue (4-2) blasted the Rainbow Wahine to a 24-10 start after the first quarter and 43-19 at halftime. The Boilermakres turned 10 Hawaii first-half turnovers into 16 points, and made 7-of-11 from three-point range, while holding the Rainbow Wahine to just eight first-half rebounds and 35 percent shooting.

Hawaii was never really a threat in the second half, although it made 64 percent of its shots in the fourth quarter.

After a difficult shooting effort the night before, Ae'Rianna Harris hit 9-of-11 shots for 18 points and six rebounds, while fellow sophomore Lamina Cooper had 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Sophomore Dominique Oden hit on four 3’s to score 14 points, and freshman Karissa McLaughlin chipped in 12 points and five assists, hitting a pair of triples.
