#9 — STEELE JOHNSON WINS TWO NCAA TITLES

It's not often that an athlete can win two NCAA championships in a year and fall ninth on a list like this — and not be named his school's athlete of the year, as Caleb Swanigan was by Purdue this week — but again, this was one of the most eventful, impactful years in the modern era around West Lafayette.

And so, here's Boilermaker diver and Olympian Steele Johnson holding NCAA championships in the 3-meter and 1-meter diving events coming in at No. 9, with accomplishments that might top the list in a quieter year.

He nearly won three championships, as the sophomore placed second in the platform, incidentally the event that he's won silver in at the Olympics and considered to be his specialty.

Johnson was named both Big Ten and NCAA diver-of-the-year.
