CERRITOS, CA. -- Purdue continues to make a huge push into the Class of 2021 and they've made Texas native Harrison Ingram a major priority.

The 6-foot-7 wing has played well during the spring as he checks in as the No. 24 overall prospect in the Rivals national Class of 2021 rankings as he's scheduled to take an unofficial visit to Purdue.

"Purdue hasn't offered yet but Purdue has been on me the hardest," Ingram said at this weekend's Pangos All-American Camp in California.

"I've taken a lot of visits but the next visit is June 27 and that's Purdue."

With Purdue's coaching staff locking up multiple Class of 2020 commitments, the 2021 class has become a particularly strong focus as Boilermaker coaches are hoping to make an early impression with Ingram.

So far, the pitch to Ingram has been to compare him to another Texas native, Carsen Edwards.

"They're saying to me that they like big guards who can handle it and shoot it. They think I fit in nicely with their program," Ingram said.

"What they said is, 'Picture Carsen Edwards but in a bigger body.' Carsen Edwards came into their school not really well known and they showed me that they can take a player and turn an unranked guy into a pro. And they're trying to say, 'Look what they can do with me.'"

When he visits the Purdue campus in a few weeks, Ingram's goal is to get a feel for the academics and what the campus life has to offer. Since Ingram's older brother is pulling a double major in economics and computer science, Ingram is intrigued with potentially pursuing those majors as well.

"I want to see the campus, hear about the academics because my family is really high on academics," Ingram said of the Purdue visit. "The school I go to is more of a prep school but it's focused just as much on academics as it is on sports. So that's first, then basketball. So I want to make sure I can do the major that I want to do. And I also want to see the campus."

Ingram has put together a solid spring in the adidas Gauntlet with Team YGC36 as they're undefeated through two sessions of play. On a balanced team, Ingram leads the team in rebounding and assists as he's putting up 9.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range.

While Ingram is skilled enough to play multiple spots on the floor, he's still trying to work on a few parts of his game over the next several months.

"My handles and my athleticism. I have handles to bring the ball up the court but I want to not just go by people my size, but to go by smaller guards. Hit them with a move and score on them," Ingram said.

Ingram has also checked out Baylor and Stanford for unofficial visits during 2019 while he's also trying to take a visit to Memphis during the summer. With 18 scholarship offers, Ingram's recruitment has hit a new level over the last several months as he's still early in the process.
