Purdue's World University Games schedule released

Purdue, representing the USA, will open its World University Games action on Aug. 20.

That'll be the first of five games in the six-day span, part of a schedule released Tuesday by the International University Sports Federation. But before the overseas' schedule, the Boilermakers will scrimmage back home; the USA National Team will host two exhibition games against teams to be determined prior to leaving for Chinese Taipei. On Aug. 11, the squad will play a game at Carmel High School, before hosting the same team Aug. 12 at Lafayette Jefferson High School.

Sunday, Aug. 20

3 p.m. – Romania vs. Czech Republic

5:30 p.m. – USA vs. Argentina / Taipei Arena (5:30 a.m. ET)

5:30 p.m. – United Arab Emirates vs. Estonia

Monday, Aug. 21

10 a.m. – Czech Republic vs. Argentina

12:30 p.m. – Estonia vs. Romania

3 p.m. – USA vs. United Arab Emirates / University of Taipei Gymnasium (3 a.m. ET)

Wednesday, Aug. 23

12:30 p.m. – Argentina vs. Estonia

5:30 p.m. – USA vs. Czech Republic / Taipei Arena (5:30 a.m. ET)

8 p.m. – Romania vs. United Arab Emirates

Thursday, Aug. 24

3 p.m. – USA vs. Romania / Taipei Arena (3 a.m. ET)

8 p.m. – Estonia vs. Czech Republic

8 p.m. – Argentina vs. United Arab Emirates

Friday, Aug. 25

12:30 p.m. – USA vs. Estonia / Taipei Arena (12:30 a.m. ET)

12:30 p.m. – Czech Republic vs. United Arab Emirates

3 p.m. – Argentina vs. Romania

Aug. 27 – 29 Bracket Play

The top two teams from each pool will then advance to the medal round, beginning with the quarterfinals on Aug. 27. The semifinals will take place Aug. 28, and the finals will be held Aug. 29, tipping at 8 a.m. ET.

Teams who finish third and fourth in their respective pool will participate in a consolation bracket, while the remaining teams that finish fifth and sixth in their pool will play in a third bracket. Each team is guaranteed to play at least eight games throughout the entire World University Games.
