Forty-seven Purdue football players had a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the spring semester, meeting a goal set by Coach Darrell Hazell.

As part of his decree that "A Players Must Get As," the second-year coach wants athletes to reach at least a 3.0 GPA. Forty players did so during the fall semester. Six players - QB David Blough, guard Cody Davis, linebacker Jimmy Herman, center Robert Kugler, wide receiver Shane Mikesky and tight end Justin Sinz - all finished with perfect 4.0 marks in the spring.

According to a release by Purdue, the team posted a 2.78 GPA for the spring, up from a 2.65 in the fall, and improved its cumulative GPA to 2.77, up from 2.75 prior to the spring semester.

The players listed below will have their picture placed on the "A Players Wall" located in the football offices on the third floor of the Mollenkopf Athletic Center.

To be eligible for the wall, the players must have been on the team the previous season or taken part in spring practices. Scholarship and walkon players are eligible.
