#7 — PURDUE FOOTBALL'S TRAINING CENTER PROJECT

Plans were hatched for Purdue's new football training center complex well in advance of this past-year window, but the project has come to life the past few months in advance of the facility's opening in time for the fall.

The $65-million facility should provide a struggling program an important new resource as it changes directions under new coach Jeff Brohm, the hope being that the complex's amenities and practicalities can directly affect the product on the field for the better, while also impacting recruiting for the better, which it seems to already have.

But in a broader context, if nothing else, what the facility does upon completion is to provide a physical embodiment to the upped commitment Purdue has made to its football program, which could mean a great deal to the entire athletic department, and even university, should the considerable investment reap considerable rewards.
