Purdue had to wait on the speedy Rondale Moore.

Although Jeff Brohm knew the Kentucky product, a standout at Brohm's high school, Trinity in Louisville, was interested in the Boilermakers, he had been long committed to Texas. But in December, Moore, a shifty 5-foot-9, 175-pounder, decommitted from the Longhorns. Then, in early January at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he chose the Boilermakers over Texas, Ohio State, Florida State and many others.

It was a big get for the Boilermakers.
